The City of Cupertino has installed new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at several locations throughout the city. The new ChargePoint Level 2 chargers have been installed as part of a wider effort known as the Bay Area Charge Ahead Project, a grant program funded by the California Energy Commission which will install 152 EV charge ports throughout the Bay Area in high-priority areas that relieve known EV charging congestion hot spots, and known gaps in the Bay Area's charging network....

Cathey is the foundress and head administrator of the new Faith in Action Silicon Valley Rotating Shelter. Cathey created this organization which addresses the problems and needs of homeless men in the City of Cupertino, and also adjoining areas. The City of Cupertino first municipal solar project is the first to go live of the 186 proposed Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Project systems within 19 Bay Area communities. The City is "Flipping the Switch" on a newly constructed 103kW solar carport at its Service Center. The solar project is the first of many projects to help Cupertino achieve its greenhouse gas emissions goals in its recently adopted Climate Action Plan.
